I strongly recommend this to everyone who likes cartoons and sci-fi and action. I watched it when i was a kid, may be in 7thclass i dont remember exactly but till now i remember the most of the scenes from the movie, that was the impact it had in those days. Memories were almost fading, so i decided to watch it again yesterday night.  Its intriguing story and the direction makes you totally absorbed into it. Right from the starting scene you will feel the thru st and you will grow more and more desperate to seehow its going to end. And after sometime you will forget you are actually watching a cartoon movie. Somehow I feel we wont take cartoons so seriously, coz back in our mind we know they are not human and every minute our brain sends a signal saying that they are just for entertainment, fun or just to make us laugh. what i want to say,  its tough to get connected with cartoons coz its not the humans acting before us, or we know there is no life in the characters and since we have this prenotion in our mind, its hard to feel for the cartoons the way we feel when we watch the regular movies.  But as i said earlier, this one is different, you just get lost in this. You wonder about the AKIRA- the energy that resides in every living being when Kei speaks about it, and the ability within everyone of us to realize its strength and to choose how to use it. you can understand Tetsuo’s arrogance,  his desperatness to prove that he doesnt need any help, and how this desperatness transforms into hatred for Kanedaa.. You admire the perservance of Kaneda, his caring for Tetsuo and then his Will to stop him and then his revenge to kill him through out the story. You can feel Scientists urge to discover the bigger truths that no one of us had ever known, their search for Akira, for Universe. You can feel the Power of Tetsuo when he destroys the Colnel’s army with the superb background music. Its pure brilliance how the director Brings NEO-TOKYO to Life. His way of narrating the story, the Political and Social Unrest after the WorldWarIII in Neo-Tokyo. At the end you will feel ” Did i watch a cartoon film until now !!!!!!!! ” And some scenes when you see the colnel entering the Underground facility the director gives every detail of the doors and the locks to enter the chamber, and after that when Tetsuo arrives at the same place, you release why he showed that in so much detail. All these things  are so brilliant that this movie will stay in your memories for long long time…

Now i can see why i loved it when i was a kid….
